The Marvel Cinematic Universe kicked off Phase 4 with a bang last year with its first ever Disney+ TV show in Wandavision.
Featuring Paul Bettany’s Vision and Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda Maximoff, the series provided a much-needed tonal shift for the MCU as the show had a sitcom backdrop set in different decades.
Along with the tonal shift, the show also saw the gradual transformation of Wanda Maximoff’s powers as she finally became the Scarlet Witch that fans had waited to see for a long time
Bettany’s Vision also had quite the turnaround following his death at the hands of Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War. While Maximoff kept him alive with Chaos Magic for a long time, she eventually broke the Hex she had created around Westview in the show’s final episode, causing Vision to be erased again.
However, that’s not the only Vision that manifested in the MCU. The show also revealed a White Vision, which was built by S.W.O.R.D. using the original Vision’s dead body.
With the help of the Chaos Magic inside the Hex, S.W.O.R.D. was able to activate it inside the dome, and it was then sent to battle against Vision and Wanda Maximoff.
During his battle with Vision, White Vision revealed that he was programmed by the show’s villain in S.W.O.R.D. director Tyler Hayward to kill the duo. However, with the help of the Ship of Theseus concept, Vision was able to reason with White Vision by showcasing him the memories he had experienced as an Avenger, and the relationship he had with Wanda Maximoff.
This caused White Vision to utter that he was the true Vision before he flew away. Since then, fans haven’t seen him at all, even though many of them have theories about his potential return.
With the Scarlet Witch set to return in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that White Vision with his newfound memories might return to help his true love.
Other theories suggest that White Vision might not return anytime as he recalibrates himself with the memories he received from the Vision in the Hex, and he will most likely make an appearance in a movie featuring an Avengers-level threat.
Even though fans have no clue about Paul Bettany’s arrival in another MCU project, it seems like Wandavision won’t be the last time they see the British actor, and he will surely come back for a project in the near future.
